Cruise specialist doubles turnover
Cruise agency ROL Cruise has disclosed an operating profit of almost £1 million based on a doubling of turnover in 2005-06.
The Colchester-based specialist retailer saw turnover rise year-on-year from £12 million to £24 million.
Projected turnover after the first four months of trading in the 2006-07 financial year is forecast at £40 million.
A record August in the company’s 11 year history saw sales worth £5.5 million being made – 80% of which were for no-fly cruises.
The company claims to spend more on national advertising than any other UK cruise retailer.
Managing director Peter Beadles said: “The last few years has seen incredible growth for our company and reflects the standing we have with both our clients and the cruise lines we work closely with.
“We have been committed to providing a very specialised and expert service to a very specific market. Client retention and recommendation has been a key part of our growth.”
