Crystal Symphony re-enters service after $23m revamp
Luxury cruise ship Crystal Symphony has emerged from a $23 million revamp in dry dock.
Work to the 940-passenger vessel included the creation of a new nightclub, redesigned cabins and a revamped casino.
The major construction project follows a multi-million dollar renovation two years ago.
The ship cruises through the Panama Canal before heading to Los Angeles for a Christmas cruise. Crystal Symphony starts 2007 with several Panama Canal and Mexican Riviera cruises followed by cruises to Asia and Europe.
At the same time, the role of London-based Philip Ordever is being expanded from vice-president sales and marketing – Europe to also cover the Middle East and Africa.
He will work closely with the international territories to enlarge Crystal’s presence and be responsible for strategic planning, management of contracts, relationships and business development plans of key travel agents and General Sales Agents.
Sales and marketing senior vice president Bill Smith said: “Three years ago we opened a sales and marketing office in London, headed up by Philip Ordever, which enabled us to successfully expand our presence in Europe. With the explosive growth occurring in Asia, we’re keen to increase our presence in these markets and to accomplish this, we’re re-aligning our international territories to provide more direct coverage.“
