Cunard ship hit by back-to-back illness outbreaks

A second back-to-back outbreak of gastrointestinal illness has impacted Cunard ship Queen Mary 2.
Following an outbreak with 150 cases last week during a transatlantic crossing to New York, the following cruise from New York to the Caribbean has also been impacted.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says a further 223 guests have fallen ill on the current cruise, along with 44 crew members.
The ship conducted enhanced cleaning and disinfection during its call in New York.
QM2 is visiting ports including St. Maarten, Dominica, and Barbados.
The CDC is remotely monitoring the outbreak.
So far, the health agency hasn’t confirmed either of the two cruises as Norovirus outbreaks.
Diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps are the main symptoms of both outbreaks.
