After working a flight which landed at Detroit Metropolitan Airport, a Delta Air Lines flight attendant was promptly arrested by waiting officers.

Flight attendant Christopher Bell, 27, has an active arrest warrant in the state of Florida for grand theft.

He was taken in to custody after the aircraft landed from Paris, Delta said.

"There is no indication that this action was related to crew, passenger or aircraft safety or security of this flight," an airline statement said.

"Earlier today, CBP officers working at the Detroit Metro Wayne County Airport arrested a flight attendant on an active warrant for grand theft in the third degree from Orange County, Florida," US Customs and Border Protection said in a statement.

"The flight attendant was turned over to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office to await extradition to Florida authorities."
