Delta Air Lines says it had its best ever summer this year, carrying a record number of passengers.
"We had the strongest summer in our history. We set all-time records in terms of volume of traffic and volume of passenger flows," said CEO Ed Bastian.
That was down primarily to lower fares, which were an average 6% lower than last year, Bastion said.
However, profits were ‘still strong,’ Bastion said during an event in New York.
This all came despite a damaging computer outage in August causing the airline to cancel more than 2,000 flights over several days.
Delta last week struck a deal with pilots for ‘industry leading’ pay increases of 30% over a period of four years.
