Delta Air Lines relocating to new Satellite Terminal at Shanghai
Delta Air Lines is relocating operations at Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
It is shifting from Terminal 1 to the new Satellite Terminal to streamline flight connections with partner China Eastern Airlines.
It means departing passengers will still have to check-in at Terminal 1, and will then be transported to the Satellite Terminal by the airport’s light rail system.
Delta One customers and elite SkyMiles members will have access to China Eastern’s new business lounges at the Satellite Terminal.
"This move is part of our broader strategy to collaborate with China Eastern to better address the growing needs of the US-China market," said Delta president Wong Hong.
"Delta is committed to continuously investing to improve customers’ on-the-ground and in-flight experience."
The Satellite Terminal is the largest terminal structure of its kind in the world.
