Delta passengers now have the ability to track the journey of their checked bags from drop off to baggage reclaim in the arrivals hall.
Using Delta’s radio frequency identification (RFID) bag tags, customers can map their bag’s journey based on its last scanned location on the Fly Delta mobile app.
"We’re the first carrier to offer this level of visibility. From the moment our customers drop off their bag, we want them to know we’re looking out for it every step of the way and working to take the stress out of flying one innovation at a time," Bill Lentsch, Delta’s senior vice president – airline operations and airport customer service.
It comes in the form of a map view on the app.
Delta has rolled out RFID tracking technology at dozens of US airports and will be available in international locations in the coming months.
