Thursday, 29 Aug, 2006 0

Delta Air Lines has won approval to start selling seats on its new Gatwick-New York service.

The airline plans daily flights from November 15, rising to twice daily from May 1 next year.

Final approval for the route is expected within the next few weeks, the airline said.

Delta is to use 214-seat Boeing 767-300ER aircraft on the route. The carrier acquired the London-New York route authority from United Airlines, which operates from Heathrow, as previously reported by TravelMole.

Economy fares start with an introductory rate of £105 return with BusinessElite at £2,200.
