Delta Airlines is again tweaking its emotional-support animal policy.
It will soon ban all kittens and puppies under four months old on all flights.
In addition, all emotional support animals of any age will be forbidden from longer flights lasting eight or more hours.
The new rule takes effect on December 18.
Current ticket holders impacted will be able to travel with their pets up to the end of January 2019.
Delta says it has updated policy on the support- and service-animal age limit in line with the recommended vaccination policy of the CDC.
"These updates support Delta’s commitment to safety and also protect the rights of customers with documented needs — such as veterans with disabilities — to travel with trained service and support animals," said John Laughter, Delta’s SVP of corporate safety, security and compliance.
The airline will contact customers to change their reservations or offer other options if it impacts their travel plans.
