Delta variant surge impacting Airbnb bookings
Airbnb saw an early pandemic uptick in business as travelers shunned hotels for the safety of private homes, but the company now says the spread of the Delta variant is impacting bookings. Bookings for the fall have declined.
Airbnb expects weaker booking volumes and it will remain below 2019 levels. Bookings had been strong with gross revenue up at over $13 billion fuelled by longer rentals for remote work.
