Details of new Cunard ship revealed
Cunard Line has released details of £300/$540 million new ship Queen Victoria.
The vessel, due to enter service from Southampton in December 2007, will cater for more than 2,000 passengers.
The 90,000 tonne ship is due to operate alongside QM2 and QE2 with the first voyage being a 10-night north European itinerary on December 11, 2007 followed by a Christmas and new year trip to the Canary Islands on December 21.
Features on board include a three-storey theatre, 16 decks, a retractable glass roof, restaurants, art gallery, library with 6,000 books and shops.
More than 70% of the 1,007 cabins will have balconies with only 14% having no sea view.
The first sailings are open for pre-registered bookings, on February 26 for past passengers and on April 3 for all bookings.
Cunard president and managing director Carol Marlow said: “This vessel will offer the classic Cunard luxury and pexperience while at the same time providing the most up-to-date amenities and facilities, along with a new impressive innovations.”
