Dickens-like hotel offer

For those who can afford it, during the holidays there’s nothing quite like the Mirbeau Inn & Spa in the small town of Skaneateles in New York’s Finger Lake region. From Thanksgiving to Christmas, it’s transformed into the times of perennially-popular novelist Charles Dickens.
Here, costumed Dickensian characters from the famous novels stroll the village streets. The scent of roasted chestnuts and hot cider fills the air. Children delight in meeting Father Christmas and Mother Goose.
Guests at the Mirbeau Inn & Spa can partake in a range of festivities to celebrate Christmas. There’s a Dickens Dinner, Christmas Eve Dinner, a Christmas Day Brunch Buffet, and an annual New Year’s Eve Gala.
“In addition, spa and wellness workshops, cooking classes, cookie decorating, and wine seminars are offered throughout the fall and winter,” says a press release.
Every Saturday through December 17, visitors can have family holiday pictures taken in the living room at Mirbeau at an elegant antique sleigh. Children of all ages can decorate Christmas cookies.
One night accommodations that include a three-course dinner, a 100 minute “Quench” massage, a full breakfast, in-room bath, and all taxes and gratuities starts at $905 per evening, with the offer good through Dec. 23.
A two nights “Dickens Holiday Package” is $660, or $330 a night.
Steeped in French country style, Mirbeau is tucked into 10 acres of Monet-inspired gardens, surrounded by spruce forests, rolling hills, crystal clear lakes and more than 100 wineries.
Mirbeau Inn & Spa is the only Forbes Four-Star Award winner for hotel, spa and restaurant in New York State, and an AAA Four-Diamond winner, according to hotel officials.
