Car rental giant Avis Budget has agreed a strategic partnership with China’s biggest ride sharing platform Didi Chuxing.
Under the agreement the companies will share marketing and technology resources to offer car rental services globally to Didi’s 300 million registered users.
Didi Chuxing users can book Avis and Budget rentals in about 175 countries.
"Internationalization is a clear mission for Didi. The partnership is a key step in our broader initiative to go global. Together, we will provide quality local travel experiences across the world for China’s fast-expanding outbound community," said Fu Qiang, senior vice president of Didi Chuxing .
About 120 million Chinese took overseas trips in 2015 and is widening the gap as the biggest outbound market.
Last year Didi entered into a cross selling agreement with US counterpart Lyft offering their respective customers rides in each country.
