Chinese ride-hailing giant Didi Chuxing has launched an English language version of its app.
It is being rolled out gradually for rides in different cities, beginning in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou where most foreign tourists and expats visit or live.
It will be made available in other cities over time.
English language content is live for its Taxi, Premier, Express, and ExpressPool services.
It also includes in-app instant chat translation for communications with drivers in real time.
Didi also provides bilingual customer service support via email and phone.
Didi previously scrapped the English language interface of Uber China after it took it over, which caused an outcry among China’s one million strong expat population.
The company says it is also adding adoption of payments by various international credit cards for nationals of numerous countries including the US, Hong Kong, Thailand, Korea, Japan, Australia and the UK.
