Riders on Disney’s iconic Jungle Cruise got a little more adventure than they bargained for when one of the vessels sank.
One of the boats at Magic Kingdom quickly took on water and ‘went from floating to sunk in about a minute’ according to Matthew Vince, who was on the ride.
The cause of the sinking is still being probed.
According to a Disney rep, all riders were able to get off the boat safely.
Officers from the Reedy Creek Fire Department were called but no medical treatment was required.
The ride reopened after a two-hour delay.
Jungle Cruise dates back nearly 50 years and is a big fan favorite.
It takes guests on an adventure along the murky waters of the most exotic rivers of Asia, Africa, and South America, complete with animatronic wildlife.
Some people jokingly speculated on social media that it could have been a publicity stunt for the upcoming ‘Jungle Cruise’ movie release, starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
