Disney settles $9.5 million passholder lawsuit

Disney has moved to settle a lawsuit brought by Magic Key Annual Passholders.

The Walt Disney Co. agreed to pay $9.5 million to settle the class-action suit.

Plaintiff Jenale Nielsen claimed the $1,399 ‘unlimited’ annual pass was blocked on certain dates even when there was general availability.

The Disney lawsuit accused the company of ‘deceptive business practices.’

“Plaintiff was unable to use her pass to make reservations because her desired dates were `unavailable,’ despite Disney’s website listing plenty of availability,” the Disney lawsuit settlement notice said.

It still has to be signed off by the judge.

The settlement covers more than 100,000 Dream Key pass holders.

Each passholder will receive about $67.

The pass conditions promised ‘no blackout dates’ for entry to Disneyland in California.

Disneyland said they ‘were satisfied the matter has been resolved.’
