Disneyland hotels stop taking 2020 reservations

Monday, 11 Nov, 2020 0

The three Disneyland resort hotels have stopped accepting room reservations for the remainder of 2020 as the prolonged closure of California theme parks led to more furloughs.

No more bookings for stays through 31 December 2020 are being taken as the company is left ‘in limbo’ over California’s stringent rules for large theme parks, Disney says.

Disney is waiving change and cancellation fees for impacted guests for stays through 31 December 2020.

The park will reopen The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa starting 6 December but the rest of the hotel will stay closed.

The company announced more furloughs this week, once again blaming the state of California for its unreasonable conditions for reopening.

"We find ourselves in the untenable situation of having to institute additional furloughs for our executive, salaried and hourly cast," Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock wrote in an internal staff memo.

It did not say exactly how many would be furloughed.
