Disruptive passenger forces jet to divert

A passenger was removed from a flight and has been charged with making terrorist threats after an American Airlines flight was forced to make an unplanned landing.
Jerry Ba Nguyen, 24 of San Jose, California allegedly made threats to fellow passengers and banged on the cockpit door during a flight from Ontario, California to Dallas.
Flight 2542 was diverted to Lubbock, Texas early Thursday morning.
Nguyen was removed from the aircraft in Lubbock after being restrained by other passengers and crew
Steve Nicholson, Lubbock airport’s deputy director for safety and operations said Nguyen ‘was not complying with the flight crew’s directions.’
He was arrested by airport police and taken to hospital for evaluation before being moved to Lubbock County Jail.
The airline said the remaining 143 passengers continued on to Dallas after a short delay.
