Dnata reaches out of court settlement with former management team
Five former dnata Travel UK managers, including Gold Medal and Travel 2 MD Andrew Freeth, have been blocked from joining luxury tour operator If Only until next April.
Four of the five had been due to join If Only in September, having resigned from dnata en masse in June. Freeth was to take up his new role as If Only chief executive in December.
However, dnata launched legal action against Freeth and colleagues Matthew Appleby, David Irving, Tracy Docherty and Gordon McCreadie to delay the move.
The five executives and If Only have now reached an out of court settlement with dnata in which it has been agreed that they won’t join If Only or have any involvement with the operator until April 1, 2018.
It was also agreed that If Only is prohibited from employing any staff currently working for The Global Travel Group, Stella Travel Services, Gold Medal Travel, Travel 2 or dnata Travel until April 1, 2018.
