Dolphin Dynamics target ?pre-packaged holiday? and ?tour? operators
Operators selling pre-packaged holidays and tours are to be offered a new technology solution following the entry of Dolphin Dynamics into this market sector with its latest software release.
Dolphin’s new pre-packaged holiday search and booking functionality enables operators to ‘pre-build’ holiday packages comprising flights, accommodation and other ground products – and sell them via their call-centres as well as online to both consumers and agents.
Having already made significant in-roads into the tailor-made tour operator sector with its flexible sales, allocation and contract management platform, this latest software release is designed to now extend the use of Dolphin across the broader tour operator market.
Initially being showcased at Travel Technology Europe in February, Dolphin’s pre-packaged search will combine GDS, low cost, and charter flights with ground products loaded in Dolphin’s product database. In-built pricing and contract management tools dynamically apply mark-ups, commissions and discounts based on configurable business rules or the package price can be fixed when pre-building the package, in order to maximise yield and revenue.
The pre-packaging functionality supports the inclusion of any number of components within air-based or ground-only itineraries. It can therefore be used to create, manage and sell simple single city break packages or complex multi-centre tours. Whilst alternative dates are presented in a price comparison grid, so that offers across a date range can be easily compared and selected. After which the user can be prompted with up-sell options during the booking journey.
Roberto Da Re, CEO at Dolphin Dynamics commented, ‘"In the last three years we have made major R&D investments in order to extend the capabilities of our software to satisfy more specialist as well as more mainstream tour operators. As a result we can now offer operators of all types an integrated, modern and flexible technology platform to efficiently manage and distribute their entire product offering across multiple channels. Without the limitations that are normally associated with technology designed for the package holiday sector. With this latest release Dolphin can now allow pre-packaged tour operators to manage their product as flexibly or rigidly as they wish."
