Dozens of Disney stores to close
The Walt Disney Co. will close at least 60 Disney stores across North America this year. The Covid pandemic has upended shopping habits as online ecommerce grows. The closures represent about one-third of its stores in North America.
It is a move to meet the needs of customers who are embracing online shopping but also a cost-cutting exercise due to theme park revenues severely hit by closures and capped capacity. The closures do not affect any stores located in the theme parks.
