Eastern Airways adds third route of ’06
Regional carrier Eastern Airways is launching its third new route of 2006 with flights from Southampton to the Isle of Man.
Daily flights (except Saturdays) will operate from March 6 with a flight time of 70 minutes.
Fares start at £99 return including taxes, fees and charges.
Eastern Airways has started a service from Aberdeen to Stornoway this month and will launch flights from Newcastle to London City from January 30.
The Isle of Man link follows November’s launch of the airline’s first international route from Southampton to Brussels.
Eastern is to use a 29-seat Jetstream 41 aircraft on the Isle of Man service.
Head of sales and marketing Keith Watson said: “Our new service is great news for South of England travellers as we are offering by far the most convenient and swiftest way to travel to the Isle of Man. We are always on the look out for new opportunities and this route will benefit those visiting on business or for leisure purposes.”
Southampton Airport director of communications Jan Halliday, said: “This new service will certainly appeal to those in the finance sector on the island not only visiting those financial institutions in the Hampshire region, but connecting onwards to the Channel Islands. Southampton is also a gateway for inbound travellers heading to London via Waterloo.”
