Tuesday, 10 December 20133 min read

Eastern Airways is to replace Flybe’s Leeds Bradford to Southampton route, which is being scrapped in January.

Leeds Bradford airport said it moved quickly to save the route, which is particularly important for business travellers and cruise passengers departing from Southampton.

Eastern Airways will start the service on January 20 with three flights a day on weekdays and one on Sundays.

Meanwhile, Flybe has announced the launch of a new summer service between Birmingham and Newquay.

Daily flights will operate from May 16 to September 9.
