EasyJet branches into the Baltics
EasyJet has scrapped flights from Stanstead to Milan and has launched services to the Baltic states.
The no-frills airline is blaming lack of slot flexibility for the decision to scrap the Milan flight, which it will go ahead with from the end of October. The airline says it will stick with this decision despite the widely publicised problems at Italian flag carrier, Alitalia.
EasyJet will continue flights between Milan and Gatwick.
In a gradual move into the extended European Union, the airline is launching flights to the Estonian capital, Tallinn from November 1. It will also fly between Tallinn and Berlin Schönefeld and between Latvia’s capital Riga and the Berlin airport.
Fares on the routes will start at E21 when they go on sale later this week. Easyjet already flies to Prague, Budapest, Ljubljana, Warsaw, Krakow and Bratislava.
