EasyJet signs distribution deals with four new partner airlines
EasyJet is to start selling tickets on behalf of Italian long-haul airline NEOS, Guernsey’s Aurigny and two French carriers, La Compagnie and Corsair.
Tickets will be on sale on the easyJet’s website by the end of the year.
EasyJet announced earlier this month that it would start to sell stand-alone tickets on other carriers as well as a new ‘Worldwide by easyJet’ service, which offers connections for passengers transferring from its own flights at Gatwick.
NEOS flies to a range of long-haul leisure destinations in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and the Middle East from Italian airports including Milan Malpensa, Rome Fiumicio, Verona and Bologna.
Aurigny serves the Channel Islands, La Compagnie carries business travellers between Paris and New York, and Corsair flies from Paris to destinations across Africa, the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean.
Together the four airlines carry nearly three million passengers a year and open up 30 regional and long-haul destinations to easyJet’s network. The new partnerships will allow easyJet passengers to book onward flights, said the airline.
EasyJet has confirmed plans for its flights and the Worldwide product to be included in Google Flights.
Its easyJet flights product will go live in the coming weeks with Worldwide and easyJet holidays to follow.
Chief commercial office Peter Duffy said: "The response to Worldwide by easyJet has been fantastic and we are excited to be meeting more latent customer demand through today’s new partnerships.
"The take up from customers in Jersey gives us confidence that we will see similar demand from Guernsey following our partnership with Aurigny.
"Partnering with NEOS, La Compagnie and Corsair further extends the range of destinations we can serve our European customers and we will be working with our partners to roll-out the self-connect product to relevant airports."
NEOS chief commercial officer Aldo Sarnataro said: "NEOS is proud to be the first Italian airline to join the Worldwide programme by easyJet. We have been working hard to deliver high standard services to leisure travellers and are excited to host more connecting passengers on our Dreamliners to the nicest places in the world."
Aurigny commercial director Malcolm Coupar added: "It is great news for people in Guernsey and will help reduce their worries about missing connecting flights.
"It will also help to promote Guernsey as a holiday and short breaks destination to the millions of visitors to the easyJet site, and make it easier to book a ticket to Guernsey from the wide range of places served by easyJet from Gatwick."
