Emirates launches complimentary service for passengers with children

Wednesday, 10 Jul, 2006 0

Emirates Airline passengers travelling with infants through Dubai International Airport will now enjoy added convenience and comfort, with the introduction of a new complimentary baby stroller service.

This marks another first for Emirates as no other airline offers this service free of cost.  The baby strollers are now available to passengers on arrival at every Emirates Airline gate at Dubai International Airport.

This service will be particularly welcomed by passengers whose own baby strollers were checked-in at the point of origin and unavailable for use until they retrieve their luggage from the arrivals baggage hall. For transit passengers connecting on an Emirates flight, the strollers will be available at the end of the aerobridge and at transfer desks as well as the special services lounge.

For passengers arriving on off-stand gates and are shuttled to the terminal building by bus, the strollers will be available at designated drop off points inside terminal.

Mohammed Mattar, Emirates’ Senior Vice President for Airport Services Dubai said: “Emirates’ Airport Services is continuously looking for new ways to improve our offering and provide passengers with a stress-free airport experience.”

“Travelling with children can be strenuous and we are pleased to introduce this new complimentary service, which adds to the family-friendly facilities onboard Emirates’ aircraft and ensures that families travelling with infants enjoy their experience with Emirates from the start of their journey to the very end.”

“Depending on customer feedback on this service in Dubai, we will also look to introduce this service at other airports across the Emirates network.”

The colourful, high-quality strollers, easily identifiable with their prominent Emirates branding, are manufactured by Pierre Cardin and include a disposable hygiene seat cover. The baby strollers are placed in specially-marked cupboards located at arrival gates for passengers disembarking their Emirates flight to conveniently access the service and help themselves to a stroller.

Emirates baggage staff are on hand to ensure these strollers are available round-the-clock and that the cupboards are always stocked. For passengers ending their journey in Dubai, strollers can be returned at designated areas in the arrivals baggage hall and for passengers in transit, strollers can be deposited at their next departure gate.

The airline has received over 300 international awards for excellence since its launch in 1985. Product innovations are at the forefront of Emirates’ service excellence goals.
