Etihad, El Al to launch codeshare
Gulf carrier Etihad Airways and Israeli national airline El Al Israel Airlines are set to begin the first phase of a landmark codeshare partnership. From 18 July, El Al’s ‘LY’ code will be added to Etihad’s twice weekly service between Abu Dhabi to Tel Aviv.
From the start of August the codeshare pact will include connections to destinations in Australia, Bahrain, India, Korea, Philippines and Seychelles.
Loyalty members in the respective Etihad Guest and Matmid programs will be able earn and redeem points on flights booked across both airlines’ networks.
