Eurostar takes action after data breach
Eurostar customers have been told to reset their passwords after the rail operator detected an unauthorised attempt to hack into its system.
It has sent an email to customers saying it happened sometime between October 15 and 19.
It said it has reported the breach to the Information Commissioner’s Office and ‘are continuing to work with them on the matter’.
It assured customers that credit card details and payment details were not compromised because the company does not store that information online.
It has not yet revealed how many customers were affected by the breach or if the attempt was successful.
Customers were advised to reset their passwords and check for anything unusual on their account.
Eurostar also recommended they update their login details on other websites where they use the same passwords.
