Eurotunnel-Sea France deal referred to competition authorities
Competition chiefs have been asked to investigate Eurotunnel’s purchase of assets from Sea France amid concerns the deal could reduce competition and raise prices on cross Channel routes.
The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has been referred to the Competition Commission.
Eurotunnel bought three ships and other assets after Sea France went into liquidation in January.
These ships now operate between Dover and Calais under the MyFerryLink brand.
