Ex Monster and Goldtrail staff get lifeline
Ex staff of the recently failed Monster Travel and Goldtrail Holidays are being given a potential lifeline by other travel companies.
Two companies have already contacted TravelMole today pledging they will do what they can to help those who have lost their jobs.
Online travel website Travel Republic, based in Kingston upon Thames, said it is looking to recruit extra customer service staff.
“The market is in full flow now and has bounced back heartily from the early season ash doldrums,” said managing director Kane Pirie.
“We are looking to recruit extra customer service personnel at all levels, and hope we can offer a new home for shocked Goldtrail staff.”
He said the timing of Goldtrail’s unfortunate demise is puzzling.
“Airlines more commonly fail later in the year once the cash flow cycle has started to reverse, he said.
“It is a very rum time of year for them to fail. There is probably quite a story yet to come out to explain this.”
Customer service professionals should apply to [email protected]
Meanwhile, call centre, retail and home working company purpleholidays.com has promised to give priority to applications from ex Monster Travel staff.
The Fleet-based company, part of Hays Travel, is in the process of opening further retail shops in the Surrey and Hampshire areas.
“It is very sad to hear of so many people losing their jobs, no matter what company you work for or competitor everyone has bills to pay mortgages to keep to and family to support,” said Bobbie Karagkounis, head of operations and business development.
He said Purpleholidays.com will interview any ex Monster Travel home working staff for home working positions.
To submit an application, send your CV to [email protected] and state in the subject line Monster Travel to ensure that your CV is looked at immediately by one of the recruiting team.
