Expedia offers new low price guarantee

Tuesday, 23 Jan, 2006 0

Expedia says it is offering the industry’s first comprehensive price guarantee offer.

The “Best Price Guarantee” covers air, car, hotel, vacation packages, cruise or destination services or activities.

If a customer finds a lower price elsewhere for the same travel service within 24 hours of booking via Expedia.com, the travel seller will refund the difference and provide a $50 coupon.

Expedia charges a $6 booking fee. So the offer, which is being launched in a new ad campaign, has to be at least $6 below Expedia’s price, including fees and taxes.

Expedia, the No. 1 online travel sellers, is clearly trying to neutralize pricing differences and compete on service.
