Explore Holidays releases traditional European Christmas markets tours
Explore Holidays is offering the perfect opportunity to sample Europe in traditional Christmas mode with the release of two new ‘Christmas market’ packages in Germany and Austria.
A four-day/three-night ‘Christmas Delights’ program includes visits to three of Germany’s oldest traditional Christmas Markets – Leipzig, Dresden and Bamberg.
Priced from $783* per person twin share, tour highlights include a welcome snack with Bratwurst and mulled wine at Leipzig’s Christmas markets and historic Eisenach, dominated by Wartburg Castle.
A Dresden city tour, the lace making centre of Plauen, the Erzgebirge region (home of Germany’s woodcarving and famous ‘Christmas pyramids’) and the ninth century UNESCO World Heritage-listed city of Bamberg also feature in the program.
Departing Frankfurt on 05 and 09 December 2007, the ‘Christmas Delights’ package includes all accommodation, transportation, sightseeing as per itinerary and a farewell dinner.
The ‘Vienna Christmas Markets’ option offers the choice of a two or three night stay in the Austrian capital at a choice of three hotels and comes complete with daily continental breakfast.
Highlights include a two-hour private guided walking tour around the city’s historic Christmas Markets, a warm drink and a souvenir cup.
Prices for the two-night option start from $314* per person twin share.
Prices for the three-night option, which also includes a Christmas Concert and dinner at the Schonbrunn Palace Orangery, start from $544* per person twin share.
The ‘Vienna Christmas Markets’ program will operate from 24 November – 23 December 2007.
