FAA reiterates zero tolerance despite mask mandate dropped

Masks or not, the FAA’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy on unruly passenger behavior will stay in place. Acting FAA Administrator Billy Nolan warned ‘behaving dangerously will cost you; that’s a promise.’

Passengers can be fined tens of thousands of dollars for serious incidents. Many were sparked by noncompliance of mask rules. The FAA has referred 80 cases to the FBI for criminal action.

Data shows 1,233 reports of unruly passengers including nearly 800 mask-related incidents this year alone.
