Fares head south along with Athena
FREMANTLE – Fares for pensioners on Australia’s only traditional ocean liner, Athena, have been cut and supplements for solo pensioners thrown overboard on two cruises along Australia’s southern coastline this summer.
Until August 31, Classic International Cruises is offering special discounts for Australian Pension Card holders in selected inside and ocean-view cabins on two of Athena’s voyages between Fremantle and Adelaide next January and February.
These are a five-night cruise from Fremantle to Adelaide via Port Lincoln, sailing January 18, 2010.
Fares for pension card holders are $740 per person, twin-share, in a category one inside cabin (normally $895 per person) while solo pensioners can pay the normal twin rate of $895 for single use of a cabin in this category, without the normal 25 percent solo supplement.
The second offer is on a six-night cruise from Adelaide to Fremantle via Port Lincoln and Esperance, sailing February 8, 2010.
Fares for pension card holders are now available for $890 per person, twin-share, in a category one inside cabin (normally $1075) while solo pensioners can pay the normal twin rate of $1075 for single use of a cabin in this category, without the 25 percent solo supplement.
Special pension card holder fares in selected ocean-view cabins are also available.
