The FBI is investigating the death of a young guest aboard a Carnival cruise ship.
Anna Kepner, age 18, of Titusville, Florida, was found deceased aboard the Carnival Horizon at the weekend.
Details surrounding the death have not been disclosed and the FBI hasn’t stated whether the death is suspicious.
“This is an ongoing matter under the jurisdiction of law enforcement. Our focus is on supporting the family of our guest and cooperating with the FBI,” the cruise line said.
The ship returned to Miami at the weekend after a short Caribbean sailing.
While the Feds have remained tightlipped about the nature of its inquiries, unconfirmed reports citing sources claiming it is a homicide investigation.
“She had just finished taking the test to join the military. She was already talking to recruiters and had chosen her career path. She wanted to do something that would help her community,” her family said.
