FBI tells midair blowout passengers they may be crime victims
Passengers who endured the terrifying Alaska Airlines blowout midair incident have been contacted by the FBI.
They have received a letter from the Feds indicating they may be victims of a crime.
The January 5 Boeing 737 Max flight with 177 people onboard landed with a gaping hole after a door panel blew off shortly after takeoff.
The NTSB is continuing its investigation and a DOJ criminal probe has started too.
“I’m contacting you because we have identified you as a possible victim of a crime,” the letter said, according to a lawyer representing passengers.
The FBI is overseeing a criminal investigation into the incident, which may be a ‘lengthy undertaking.’
The affected passengers will be updated as the investigation progresses, a FBI liaison officer wrote.
“We want answers. We want accountability and a DOJ investigation helps advance our goals,” said lawyer Mark Lindquist.
