DENPASAR – Indonesia has suffered another fatal ferry accident with nine people dying and three others missing after a small ferry capsized off Bali, according to an Indonesian search and rescue official says.
The ship was traveling from Kelungkung in east Bali to Nusa Penida Island, a popular tourist spot located about 26 miles southeast of Bali.
The chief of the Bali search and rescue agency says the Putra Romo was carrying 27 passengers and crew when it sank amid strong winds in the straits of Badung.
Twelve passengers and three crew were rescued and are being treated in hospital.
