Final call for entries to CTO Sustainable Tourism Awards
The Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) is putting out a final call for entries to its Sustainable Tourism Awards.
The Awards are open to individuals, groups, organisations and companies in any CTO’s member country engaged in implementing initiatives which embrace sustainable tourism concepts and core values.
TravelMole is once again the official media partner of the awards. The deadline for entries is May 31.
Categories include Excellence in Sustainable Tourism; Sustainable Accommodation and Biodiversity Conservation. More details and the full list of categories are available here.
There is also a special award for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States (SIDS), in recognition of a SIDS whose sustainable tourism efforts strongly contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Winning applicants will receive an all-expense paid trip to attend the Awards Presentation Ceremony and receive their formal plaque of recognition, at the upcoming Climate Smart and Sustainable Tourism Forum, being hosted in St. Kitts and Nevis, September 6-8, 2017.
TravelMole managing director Graham McKenzie said: "TravelMole , as an organisation with a history and long term commitment to the general principles of sustainability in tourism, are excited that the Caribbean Sustainable Tourism Awards are supporting those businesses that display energy and responsibility across the region.
"In recognising those that go that extra mile to show off the Caribbean at its very best in a unique and maintainable manner we hope that it will encourage others to go down the same path.
"Preserving and enhancing all that is good about the regions culture, landscape, seascape and general environment will only go to making life better for now and the future. TravelMole hopes that the reach they have amongst the tourism and travel community globally will enhance these efforts."
