First Kimpton Hotel in Mexico set to open
Kimpton will debut in Mexico this month as the Kimpton Aluna Hotel in Tulum opens its doors to guests.
It opens on 18 December in time for the holiday season and is a conversion of the Aluna Hotel Tulum which only opened in 2018.
It featues 72 guestrooms and six suites, and houses a range of amenities including a restaurant and rooftop bar, two pools, a fitness centre, open-air yoga studio and business center.
Guests will also have access to a private beach club which is situated off-site and is served by the hotel’s vintage cars or complimentary beach cruisers.
"This opening officially establishes our brand in Mexico, and provides an incredible opportunity for us to take part in the extremely rich culture and growing market of Tulum," said Kimpton CEO Mike DeFrino
Kimpton also has two hotels due to open next year in Mexico City.
Overall, it has more than 25 projects in the development pipeline with key openings scheduled in Paris, Hong Kong, Bali and Shanghai in the next few years.
