China is to get its first private airline, as demand for air travel in the country increases fast. According to the BBC News website, Okay Airways – also known as Aokai – will launch by the end of the year with a fleet of Boeing 747 aircraft. The BBC, quoting the Chinese Xinhua news agency, reports that the carrier will concentrate on charter flights within the country, as well as domestic air cargo services within the country. Two more carriers, United Eagle Airlines and Air Spring, have also recently applied for licences to meet the burgeoning demand for air travel within China, the BBC reports.
