Flight attendant assaulted in Heathrow hotel room during layover
An Air India flight attendant was shaken up after being assaulted in her hotel room during a London layover.
An intruder entered the flight attendant’s hotel room and attacked her at around 1:30 am several days ago.
Alerted by the woman’s screams, her fellow flight crew colleagues staying in adjacent rooms came to her aid and the unnamed intruder ran off.
He was apprehended a short time later.
It is unknown if it was a planned robbery or attempted sexual assault.
The incident took place at the Radisson Red Hotel London Heathrow.
The woman was reportedly dragged onto the floor and suffered bruises. She was then taken to hospital for evaluation.
She has since returned to India and is receiving counseling, the airline said.
“We are deeply anguished by an unlawful incident of intrusion at a hotel, operated by a major international chain,” Air India said in a statement.
“We are providing all possible support and working with the local police to pursue the matter to the fullest extent of the law.”
