Investigators are still at the scene of the Kenya Airways aircraft that crashed shortly after take-off from Cameroon on Friday night.
The airline says the aircraft’s flight data recorder has been recovered, and appears to be in good condition, although there is no news yet on what caused the crash.
Search and rescue teams were called in after traffic control lost contact with the aircraft shortly after it left Cameroon’s capital, Douala, en route to Nairobi.
The crash site was located early on Sunday morning, and search teams are still at the scene, according to Michael Okwiri, head of Kenya Airways corporate communications.
He said: “We still have no confirmed information about survivors and casualties. “Most of the aircraft is submerged under mud and water.
“A support tent has been set up close to the site with counsellors and the Kenya Airways doctor at hand.”
It’s believed 114 people, including five Britons, were on board. No survivors have been found.
