Flyers could face legal action in India for not wearing masks ‘properly’
India’s air regular has instructed airlines to ensure not only that passengers wear masks but thet they wear them properly at all times. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued an order to all airlines, airport operators and security agencies.
The DGCA wants to ensure ‘strict compliance of Covid-19 protocols during air travel’ meaning a mask not worn properly can lead to denial of entry at an airport or deplaning if the wearer does not comply.
They will be turned over to security and passengers may face charges for belligerent or unruly behaviour, it said.
