A volcano on the Indonesian island of Bali has begun spewing smoke and ash two months after heightened volcanic activity led to people being evacuated from their homes.
The UK Foreign Office said smoke is visible around 700 metres above the peak of Mount Agung. It is advising tourists to monitor local news reports and follow the advice of local authorities.
They are also being warned to stay outside the existing six to seven kilometre exclusion zone around the volcano and not to climb Mount Agung, which is the highest point on the island.
The National Disaster Management Authority for Indonesia is urging people to remain calm. The international airport remains open.
