Four of the top ten largest hotel projects in the world are in Las Vegas, according to new global research from tophotelsprojects.com.

The CityCenter Hotel and Casino with 4,100 rooms turned out to be the largest. The $7 billion hotel has two, 600-foot-high towers. It is due to be opened by MGM Mirage in 2009.

The second largest at 3,025 rooms is the Palazzo Casino Resort due to open in 2007.

In third place is the Cosmopolitan Hotel Resort & Casino with 2,400 rooms and a planned opening of 2008. And fourth is The Venetian Macao with 1,500 rooms set to open in the summer of 2008.

Vegas had another contender in the top ten with the Trump International Hotel & Tower ranked no. 8. That is due to open in 2008.
