SNCF Connect, the booking system for French national railways is expanding its European rail offering by adding direct booking for services operated by Germany’s Deutsche Bahn (DB) and Switzerland’s Swiss Federal Railways (SBB).
The move enables travelers to book seamless cross-border rail journeys across France, Germany and Switzerland through a single platform.
The agreement comes ahead of the busy summer travel season and significantly broadens the platform’s international reach. Customers can now combine rail services from multiple operators in one reservation, eliminating the need to purchase separate tickets for connecting international trips.
The latest integration opens access to more than 300 additional destinations across Europe, making it easier for travelers to plan multi-country rail vacations and business trips.
The expansion is part of SNCF Connect‘s broader strategy to position itself as a comprehensive mobility platform rather than simply a rail booking app. The service already allows users to plan door-to-door journeys using precise street addresses instead of station-to-station searches.
Beyond train travel, the platform lets customers book and manage multiple transportation options, including long-distance buses, carpooling services, taxis and rental cars. It also integrates public transportation networks in around 30 French cities, enabling passengers to organize an entire trip from departure to final destination within a single app.
Travel management features include real-time travel alerts, digital ticket storage, simplified ticket exchanges and cancellations, and support for several payment methods, including Apple Pay. Users can also access accommodation discounts through the platform.
To coincide with the summer getaway season, SNCF Connect has introduced several promotional initiatives designed to boost customer engagement.
A summer sweepstakes running through the end of August offers participants the chance to win more than 100 pairs of tickets to Disneyland Paris. The app has also released a free illustrated travel activity booklet aimed at entertaining families and solo travelers during long rail journeys.
An updated interactive destination map rounds out the summer offering by highlighting destinations with remaining train availability. The tool suggests seaside escapes, mountain vacations, city breaks and cross-border itineraries, helping travelers discover destinations where seats are still available during one of Europe’s busiest travel periods.
