Flag carrier Garuda Indonesia will begin new flights linking Jakarta to Mumbai from next week.
The route takes off on December 12 via Bangkok and will be served three times a week on two-class Boeing 738 aircraft.
It is Garuda’s first route to the Indian sub-continent and operates on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
"Our new service will seamlessly connect India and Indonesia, and offer the comfort, convenience and superior in-flight service for travellers between Jakarta and Mumbai," said Garuda’s vice president of corporate communications, Benny Butarbutar.
Indonesia is one of the biggest source markets to India with about 350,000 travelling there each year.
