Germany set to lift UK travel ban
Germany will end the UK travel ban in the New Year. It had banned non-essential travel from the UK to help curb the fast-spreading Omicron variant. With Germany detecting over 10,000 cases of the variant, it will lift the UK travel ban. The ban ends at midnight on January 4.
Transport Secretary Grant Shapps called it a ‘welcome development from our German colleagues.’ Fully vaccinated people coming from the UK are allowed to enter quarantine-free without a negative Covid test.
