Global Business Travel Association expands into India

The Global Business Travel Association has expanded its presence in Asia with the launch of GBTA India.
GBTA has joined with business travel management consultancy ProKonsul to establish the India base which will provide GBTA’s core activities including education, research, advocacy and networking in the region.
The association has announced the appointment of Gaurav Sundaram as GBTA India regional director.
"The business travel market in India is one of the healthiest in the world and given its exponential growth rates, there is a clear need for innovative education and training to ensure there are enough qualified business travel professionals to keep up with the rise in demand," said Michael W. McCormick, GBTA executive director and COO.
Currently India has the 10th largest business travel market in the world and based on projected growth, will rise to be in the top five within 15 years.
