Go plans to have at least 80 aircraft by 2008
Go has announced plans to expand its fleet to at least 80 aircraft by 2008. It currently operates 20 leased Boeing 737-300s, with seven more arriving this year.
The carrier said it is assessing offers from Boeing and Airbus for new planes, although it is keeping its options open to continue to take advantage of the secondhand aircraft market.
Go made the announcement this morning to coincide with the launch of flights from East Midlands Airport, its third base, to Alicante, one of an initial six destinations to be served by Go.
Go’s current destinations and start dates from East Midlands are:
Alicante – 14 March
Malaga – 14 March
Edinburgh – 15 March
Prague – 31 March
Faro – 22 May
Glasgow – 22 May
Go also revealed in today’s announcement that it has taken 125,00 bookings for flights from East Midlands Airport, 85% of which were made online. It reported that flights on the first two days are full.
